Rust orange pashmina shawl in cashmere and silk

Rust is one of those colours that sits quietly with almost everything already in a wardrobe, and here it is woven in 60% cashmere and 40% silk. Silk and cashmere take up dye differently, which gives the cloth a melange depth and a lustre that pure cashmere, being matte, cannot produce.

The shawl is woven in basket weave with natural fringes at each end. 90 x 200 cm of it weighs 94 grams, so it drapes over the shoulders indoors without any bulk and folds down small enough to keep in a bag for the evening.

Handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal from 15 micron cashmere.

Care: Treat the blend gently. Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent for wool and silk, never rubbing or wringing the fabric. Squeeze the water out through a towel, dry the shawl flat and out of direct sun, and keep it away from the tumble dryer entirely.
