A lavender shawl in 60% cashmere and 40% silk. Silk absorbs colour differently from cashmere, so the blend carries a sheen that pure cashmere does not, and the cashmere half is what makes the cloth soft against bare skin.
The shawl measures 90 x 200 cm and weighs 94 grams. That is a generous rectangle — enough to wrap twice around the neck, wear open over the shoulders, or pull up as a head covering — with very little weight to carry when you take it off.
It is handwoven in a basket weave at our own weaving mill in Nepal. The rest of the range in this composition sits in Silk/cashmere.
Care: A blend with silk in it prefers hand washing to the machine: lukewarm water, a mild detergent intended for wool and silk, and no rubbing. Squeeze the water out gently instead of wringing, then dry the shawl flat on a towel — never in a tumble dryer, and not hanging while wet, since the water's weight pulls the shape out. See the washing and care instructions for more.
