Orange pashmina shawl in cashmere and silk

An orange shawl woven from 60% cashmere and 40% silk. The two fibres take up dye differently, which is what gives a blend like this its sheen where pure cashmere stays matte, while the cashmere content keeps the cloth soft enough to wear straight against the neck.

At 90 x 200 cm there is width enough to wear it as a wrap across the shoulders or draped over a coat, and at 94 grams it folds down small enough to live in a bag between uses. Woven in a basket weave at our own weaving mill in Nepal.

Care: Wash by hand in lukewarm water with a detergent made for wool and silk, and avoid rubbing the fibres against each other. Don't wring it — press the water gently out of the cloth, dry it flat on a towel rather than on a hanger, and keep it out of the tumble dryer. The full routine is on our washing and care page.
