Violet cashmere scarf in twill weave

A violet scarf in pure cashmere, woven in classic twill. Twill gives the cloth its diagonal parallel ribs, which is what makes it drape the way it does and reflect light along the ribs. The cashmere is 15 µm.

The yarn for our twill scarves is spun a little thicker than for the rest of our weaves, and at 135 grams over 70 x 200 cm this is a noticeably warmer piece than our lighter stoles — a scarf for actual cold rather than for air conditioning. The width still lets it work as a shawl when you want it to.

It is handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal. The other colours in this weave are under twill weave, and every shade we make is listed in the colour chart.

Care: Air the scarf overnight rather than washing it whenever it is not genuinely dirty. When it needs washing, use a detergent intended for wool and cashmere, by hand in lukewarm water or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees, and avoid rubbing the fabric — that is what causes felting.
