Opal is the colour and pure cashmere the material — a scarf woven in twill, the pattern whose diagonal parallel ribs give the surface its texture and let the cloth fall in soft folds rather than stiff ones.
It measures 70 x 200 cm and weighs 135 grams: enough cloth to wrap the shoulders as a light stole, or to wind around the neck when the weather turns. It works as easily over a coat as over a shirt indoors.
Every scarf is hand woven at our own weaving mill in Nepal, from cashmere measuring 15 µm — the fibre diameter that decides how the finished cloth feels against the skin. It sits in our twill weave stoles, alongside the rest of our cashmere scarves.
Care: Cashmere keeps best when it is washed rarely. Air the scarf outdoors overnight when it only needs freshening. For a real wash, use a detergent intended for wool and cashmere — by hand in lukewarm water without rubbing, or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees — then dry it flat on a dry towel, well away from the tumble dryer. See our washing and care guide for the full instructions.
