Light blue pashmina shawl in 2 ply twill weave

Light blue cashmere, hand woven in twill. The weave runs a pattern of fine diagonal ribs through the surface, which is what gives the cloth its movement and the soft way it takes the light.

At 70 x 200 cm the shawl is wide enough to wear across both shoulders and long enough to wind around the neck instead, and at 65 grams you barely register the weight either way. It folds down small enough to keep in a bag for the evening.

Care: Wash rarely and air often — overnight outdoors is usually enough. When a wash is needed, use a detergent for wool and cashmere, by hand in lukewarm water or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees, and dry it flat. If small pills appear where the shawl rubs against a coat, take them off with a cashmere comb rather than pulling at them. Our washing and care guide covers the rest.
