Lavender pashmina shawl in 2 ply twill weave

A lavender shawl in pure cashmere, hand woven in twill. The weave leaves a pattern of fine diagonal ribs across the cloth, and it is the reason the shawl drapes rather than sitting flat on the shoulders.

The whole shawl weighs 65 grams. That is feather light for a piece measuring 70 x 200 cm — light enough, as with all the stoles in this weave, to pull through a finger ring — and it is what makes it such an easy thing to wear with a formal dress: it covers the shoulders without adding bulk to the line of the outfit.

It is woven at our own weaving mill in Nepal, from cashmere measuring 15 µm. More of the same weave in our twill woven pashmina stoles.

Care: Air the shawl outdoors overnight rather than washing it whenever it is not genuinely dirty — cashmere prefers it. When it does need a wash, use a detergent made for wool and cashmere, by hand in lukewarm water or on the wool programme at 30 degrees, then dry it flat on a towel rather than on a hanger, where the weight of the water would pull it out of shape.
