Jacquard woven cashmere shawl in light sage

This shawl is woven in 100% cashmere in light sage green. The fibre measures 15 µm, and the finished shawl is 200 x 70 cm yet weighs 110 grams — a wide wrap that folds down to almost nothing in a bag.

The figure in the cloth comes from the jacquard weave, which builds the pattern into the fabric on the loom instead of printing it onto the surface. It gives the shawl more presence than a plain weave, and it is why our jacquard stoles are the ones we recommend for weddings and other formal occasions.

Wound at the neck it goes round twice; opened out over the shoulders it sits as a stole. It is handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal.

Care: Airing the shawl outdoors overnight is enough when it is not really dirty, and it is gentler than washing. When it needs more, wash by hand in lukewarm water with a detergent intended for wool and cashmere, or use the machine's wool programme at 30°C.
