Dark bue jacquard pashmina shawl

A dark blue stole in 100% cashmere, woven in jacquard on looms worked by hand and foot without electricity at our own weaving mill in Nepal. The pattern comes out of the weave structure, not from print.

70 x 200 cm and 110 grams: the practical dimensions for travelling. It packs flat into a carry-on, doubles as something to put over your shoulders on a cold flight, and does not need ironing to look right at the other end.

Care: Airing the stole overnight, out of direct sunlight, deals with ordinary wear. When it needs washing, use lukewarm water with a wool detergent, by hand or on a 30 °C wool programme, and avoid rubbing. Press the water out rather than wringing, dry flat on a towel, and never tumble dry. If you iron, use the wool setting and keep the iron moving — a steamer is gentler.
