Beige jacquard woven cashmere shawl

A jacquard woven shawl in 100% cashmere, in beige. The yarn is spun from fibres measuring 15 µm — the fineness that lets cashmere be warm without being heavy — and the finished shawl weighs only 110 grams.

The pattern is not printed onto the surface but woven into the cloth on a jacquard loom, so it sits in the structure of the fabric and catches the light as you move. That is what makes a jacquard shawl dressier than a plain weave, and why we put our jacquard stoles forward for weddings and other formal occasions.

At 200 x 70 cm there is enough cloth to wear it as a stole across the shoulders, or to wind it twice at the neck and still have length to spare. It is handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal.

Care: If the shawl is not actually dirty, air it outdoors overnight instead of washing it. When it does need a wash, use a detergent made for wool and cashmere: by hand in lukewarm water, or in the machine on the wool programme at 30°C.
