Rust orange, in pure cashmere and nothing else. The fibre measures 15 microns across, and that fineness is what you notice first: the cloth feels soft against the neck rather than substantial, and it falls in loose folds instead of holding a shape.
The weave is jacquard, which means the pattern is built into the cloth on the loom, thread by thread, rather than printed onto a finished surface. It is one of our jacquard pashmina stoles. At 200 x 70 cm there is enough shawl to wind twice around the neck or to leave open across the shoulders, and at 110 grams it does that without pulling at a dress. It is a shawl we would pair with a wedding dress, or with something dark and plain for a formal evening.
Woven at our own weaving mill in Nepal.
Care: Airing the shawl overnight is often all it needs. When it does have to be washed, use a detergent made for wool and cashmere, either by hand in lukewarm water or on the wool programme at 30 degrees, and dry it flat on a towel rather than in the tumble dryer. Pills that form where the shawl rubs against a coat can be lifted off with a cashmere comb. The full instructions are on our washing and care page.
