Burgundy jacquard pashmina shawl

A burgundy stole in 100% cashmere, woven in jacquard. The pattern is built into the weave rather than printed or embroidered onto it — the technique is named after Joseph Marie Jacquard, and on our looms it is worked by hand and foot, without electricity.

It measures 70 x 200 cm and weighs 110 grams, so it knots at the neck like a scarf but still has the length to sit over the shoulders with a dress. A woven pattern in a single deep colour is what makes this quality easy to wear with formalwear — these stoles are made with the wedding dress and other formal occasions in mind.

The cashmere measures 15 µm and is handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal.

Care: Cashmere rarely needs washing — airing the stole overnight away from direct sunlight handles most wear. When it does need it, use lukewarm water with a wool detergent, by hand or on the machine's wool programme at 30 °C, and don't rub the fibres. Dry it flat on a towel, never in a tumble dryer.
