Maroon diamond woven pashmina shawl

Pure cashmere, handwoven in diamond weave at our own weaving mill in Nepal, in maroon. The diamond weave is a variation of twill: the threads meet to form the shape of a perfect diamond, which is why the surface returns the light the way it does.

It measures 70 x 200 cm and weighs 95 grams. That size is the versatile one — equally at home worn long as a scarf, draped over the shoulders as a shawl, or doubled around the neck on a cold evening. The yarn is a fine 15 µm cashmere quality, which is what lets something this light still feel warm. More colours in diamond weave.

It is woven on authentic handlooms according to old traditions, at the small weaving mill in Kathmandu we have worked with since 2012 — almost entirely without the use of electricity.

Care: Air it outdoors overnight rather than washing it whenever you can — that is usually all pure cashmere needs. For an actual wash, use a detergent made for wool and cashmere, either by hand in lukewarm water or on a wool programme at 30 °C. Never put it in the tumble dryer, and do not hang it up soaking wet, as the weight of the water can pull it out of shape; dry it flat on a dry towel instead.
