Olive green giant shawl in cashmere 200 x 140 cm

Two metres by 140 centimetres of pure cashmere, and 130 grams all told. That is the point of the giant format: enough cloth to wrap in properly, at a weight you stop noticing once it is on.

The colour is olive green, and the weave is twill — the diagonal parallel rib that gives the surface its quiet structure. At 15 microns the yarn sits at the fine end of the range cashmere is graded on, which is what keeps a shawl this size soft rather than heavy.

Care: Wash with a detergent made for wool and cashmere: by hand in lukewarm water, or the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees. Don't rub the fabric, don't wring it, and never tumble dry — dry it flat on a dry towel. Pills that form where the cloth rubs against a coat can be lifted off with a cashmere comb.
