Navy giant shawl in cashmere 200 x 140 cm

Pure cashmere, handwoven in a twill weave whose fine diagonal ribbing runs the length of the cloth. At 15 µm the fibre is fine enough to sit comfortably against bare skin, which is what separates cashmere from heavier wools.

The format is generous — 200 x 140 cm, closer to a small blanket than to a scarf. Worn open it covers both shoulders over a coat or a dress; gathered up it works as a thick scarf on a cold morning. This one is navy blue.

It is handwoven at our own weaving mill in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, together with the rest of our extra large shawls.

Care: Wash by hand in lukewarm water, or in the machine on the wool programme at 30 degrees, using a detergent made for wool and cashmere. Never tumble dry — dry the shawl flat on a dry towel. The full method is on our washing and care instructions for cashmere.
