This is a dip dye shawl in pure cashmere: the cloth is dyed so that the two colours, black and blue, blend into one another instead of meeting at a printed or stitched edge. The dyeing is done to the woven cloth, so the transition belongs to the fabric itself.
It is woven in twill, the weave that produces a simple pattern of diagonal parallel ribs, and it weighs 65 g in a size of 70 x 200 cm. That combination — two metres of fabric at 65 grams — is what a cashmere fibre of 15 µm makes possible.
It is handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal. The full range of colour combinations is under dip dye shawls, and the same weave in single colours is under our twill woven stoles.
Care: Hand wash or use a wool programme at 30 °C with a detergent made for wool. Never tumble dry — dry the shawl flat on a towel — and use a garment steamer rather than an iron on a fabric this light. Our washing and care page has the rest.
