Shaded pashmina shawl in fuchsia and coral red

A dip dye shawl in pure cashmere where fuchsia and coral red run into one another, the dye graded across the cloth so there is no hard edge between the two. The cashmere measures 15 microns and is woven in twill, giving a surface of fine diagonal parallel ribs.

70 x 200 cm and 65 grams: enough cloth to drape over both shoulders, little enough weight that it will pull through a finger ring. Worn open over a plain dress it does the work of jewellery; wound twice around the neck it behaves like an ordinary scarf. The other colour pairings are in dip dye shawls.

Care: Air the shawl outdoors overnight when it only needs freshening. For a wash, use a detergent made for wool and cashmere — by hand in lukewarm water, or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees — and do not rub the fabric, as that risks felting the wool.
