Plum cashmere beanie

A beanie knitted in pure cashmere, in plum.

The fibre comes from Inner Mongolia, one of the regions cashmere has long been associated with — our page on cashmere production describes how the undercoat is collected and graded, and where the 15-micron quality used here sits among the finer grades. What it means to wear is a hat that is warm and light at the same time, and gentle against the forehead.

Care: Air it overnight rather than washing it whenever it is not genuinely soiled. When it needs washing, use the wool programme at 30 °C or lukewarm water by hand with a wool and cashmere detergent, press the water out instead of wringing, and dry it flat on a towel.
