Light blue blouse in silk and cashmere

A light blue blouse in 85% silk and 15% cashmere, with cashmere from Inner Mongolia. Silk is a filament fibre — one long, smooth thread rather than short fibres spun together — and that smoothness is what gives the cloth its drape and its quiet lustre. The cashmere in the blend brings the softness and warmth that silk alone does not carry.

Care: A silk-dominant blend asks for gentler handling than wool. Wash by hand at 30–40 degrees with a mild liquid soap — powder does not always dissolve properly and can damage silk — one piece at a time, and do not bunch or wring the fabric while it is wet. Press the water out gently and dry the blouse flat on a dry towel, away from direct sunlight, as silk fibres have little resistance to UV light. Iron on the reverse with a cool iron while the fabric is still damp, or use a garment steamer. Our care instructions cover the cashmere side of the blend.
