Taupe blouse in silk and cashmere

The blend is what to notice first here: 85% silk and 15% cashmere. Silk gives the blouse its smooth, light body, and the cashmere worked in with it brings the softness and the small amount of warmth that pure silk does not have on its own.

In taupe, the blouse is a wardrobe neutral rather than a statement — it takes accessories well and it does not fight with whatever coat or scarf goes over it. Worn under a handwoven cashmere shawl from our own weaving mill in Nepal, the two materials belong together.

The cashmere comes from Inner Mongolia, long established as a source of fine cashmere.
