Orange blouse in silk and cashmere

An orange blouse in 85% silk and 15% cashmere. The silk makes up most of the cloth and gives it a smooth, light surface; the cashmere spun in with it adds softness and a little warmth, so the blouse works in a cool office as well as on a mild day.

Orange is the colour to reach for when the rest of the wardrobe is black, navy and grey — it does the work of an accessory while still being a proper blouse. It also sits happily under a handwoven cashmere scarf or shawl from our own weaving mill in Nepal.

The cashmere in the yarn comes from Inner Mongolia, one of the classic regions for fine cashmere.

Care: A silk-rich blouse asks for hand washing. Use lukewarm water and a detergent intended for wool and cashmere, do not rub or wring the fabric, and dry it flat on a towel — never in the tumble dryer.
