Sand coloured shawl in handwoven cashmere

A shawl in 100% cashmere in sand, handwoven in basket weave. The cashmere fibre measures 15 µm.

The weave is the simplest there is: in basket weave, or plain weave, warp and weft are aligned so they form a criss-cross pattern, one thread over and the next under. The shawl measures 70 x 200 cm, enough length to wrap twice or to drape open over a coat. All our basket weave shawls and stoles.

Each piece is woven by hand on a traditional handloom in our own weaving mill in Nepal.

Care: Air the shawl outdoors overnight rather than washing it after every use. When washing is needed, use a detergent intended for wool and cashmere — by hand in lukewarm water, or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees. Never tumble dry; lay it flat on a dry towel.
