Dark golden jacquard woven cashmere/silk shawl

A stole in dark golden, woven in jacquard from 60% cashmere and 40% silk. Jacquard — the technique named after its inventor, Joseph Marie Jacquard — makes the pattern part of the weave itself, and the silk in the blend gives that pattern something to work with, reflecting light where pure cashmere would stay matte.

It measures 70 x 200 cm, enough cloth to wear as a scarf, a wrap or a covering for the shoulders, depending on the day and the outfit. This is the sort of stole bought for a wedding or a formal evening that then quietly becomes one of the pieces worn most.

Handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal from 15 micron cashmere.

Care: Hand wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent intended for wool and silk. Do not rub or wring the fabric — squeeze the water out in a towel instead, then dry the stole flat and out of direct sunlight. Never tumble dry a cashmere and silk blend.
