A beige stole woven in jacquard from 60% cashmere and 40% silk. The jacquard technique, named after Joseph Marie Jacquard, builds the pattern into the structure of the cloth, and with silk in the blend that pattern reflects the light instead of sitting flat — cashmere on its own is matte.
At 70 x 200 cm it covers the ground between scarf and wrap: around the neck, over the shoulders, or across the arms at a wedding or another formal occasion where a coat would be too much. Beige makes it a piece that keeps working with whatever else is being worn.
It is handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal, from cashmere of 15 micron.
Care: This blend needs a mild hand. Wash it by hand in lukewarm water with a detergent made for wool and silk, without rubbing or wringing. Press the water out through a towel, dry the stole flat and away from direct sun, and keep it out of the tumble dryer. See our washing and care instructions for the details and our page on silk and its origins for the fibre; the rest of the weave is under Jacquard Pashmina.
