Twill is the weave that runs a fine diagonal line through cloth, and it is what lets a scarf fall rather than hold stiff — the diagonal allows the threads to move against each other in a way a plain weave does not. This one is woven in pure yak wool, in midnight blue.
Yak sits in the luxury fibre family alongside cashmere and merino. The scarf measures 70 x 200 cm and is hand-woven at our own weaving mill in Nepal, where the twill is set up on the loom by hand.
There is more on how the weaves differ on our page about weaving, and the rest of the fibre under yak scarves.
Care: If the scarf is not dirty, airing it outdoors overnight is enough. Otherwise wash it with a detergent intended for wool and cashmere — by hand in lukewarm water, or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees — and avoid rubbing it. Never tumble dry it, never wring it, and lay it flat on a towel to dry. Our washing and care page covers the rest.
