Large black scarf with thin white stripes

A large scarf in pure lambswool, black with thin white stripes. Lambswool is taken from a sheep's first shearing, which gives a finer and softer fibre than the fleeces that follow, without losing the springiness and warmth of wool.

190 x 70 cm puts it between a scarf and a stole. There is width enough to lay it across the shoulders indoors or over a coat outdoors, and length enough to wind it twice around the neck with the ends still hanging. Black with white will sit alongside most of what is already in a wardrobe, which is much of the point of a scarf this size. Our other wool scarves and shawls are in wool.

Woven in Scotland.

  • Composition: 100% lambswool
  • Colour: black
  • Size: 190 x 70 cm
  • Country of origin: Scotland

Care: Airing the scarf outdoors overnight is enough when it is not actually dirty. When it is, wash it with a detergent intended for wool — by hand in lukewarm water, or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees — and avoid rubbing it, as that risks felting the wool. Never tumble dry; dry it flat on a dry towel. Pills where the scarf rubs against a coat come off with a cashmere comb. Full instructions are on our washing and care page.
