Checkered cashmere shawl in blue and sienna

A checkered shawl in pure cashmere, in blue and sienna. The check is woven in a basket weave, which gives the cloth a soft, pliable handle and lets the two colours meet cleanly where they cross.

The shawl measures 200 x 90 cm. That is wide enough to wear open across the shoulders as a wrap, and long enough to fold lengthwise and wind twice around the neck over a coat — a shawl that carries a whole outfit rather than finishing it.
