Cashmere shawl in fuchsia and orange spray pattern

Fuchsia and coral, sprayed onto handwoven cashmere. Because the dye goes onto the finished cloth rather than into the yarn, the two warm shades sit in the surface of the weave. The cashmere itself measures 15 microns across the fibre — fine enough that a shawl of 70 x 200 cm carries almost no weight.

This is the piece for the day a dark coat needs interrupting. It works wound short at the neck and it works opened out over a plain dress, and it takes up very little room in a bag between the two.

Care: Air it overnight when it only needs freshening. For washing, use a wool and cashmere detergent — hand wash in lukewarm water or the wool programme at 30 degrees — then dry it flat on a towel, never in the tumble dryer. Details on our washing and care page.
