Navy cashmere scarf with colored stripes

Coloured stripes on a navy blue ground, woven from 50% cashmere and 50% wool. The stripes are the point of this one — a plain navy scarf is quiet, and this is the version that carries some colour with it.

The cloth is woven in twill at 200 x 70 cm, with a fibre thickness of 15 µm. Twill puts the threads on a diagonal, which gives a light scarf some structure to hang by; there is a full explanation on our weaving page. Other stripe and check combinations are in checkers and stripes.

Care: Treat the blend as you would pure cashmere. Air the scarf outdoors when it only needs freshening; for an actual wash use a detergent made for wool and cashmere, avoiding biological detergents because their enzymes damage animal fibres. Hand wash in lukewarm water or run the wool programme at 30 degrees, press out the water without wringing, and dry the scarf flat on a towel — never in the tumble dryer.
