A white tartan shawl in a blend of 60% cashmere and 40% silk. Cashmere gives it the warmth and the soft hand; silk makes the yarn stronger and lends the cloth a light sheen.
The weave is twill, the cashmere measures 15 micron, and the shawl is 70 x 200 cm — long enough to wind twice around the neck, wide enough to wear open across the shoulders. White is the version of tartan that works with tones rather than against them, sitting quietly with camel, grey or navy. The whole selection is in tartan scarves.
Woven by hand in our own weaving mill in Nepal. Our page on silk and its origins covers the second fibre in the blend.
Care: Hand wash in cool water with a detergent intended for wool and cashmere, press the water out in a towel instead of wringing, and dry the shawl flat out of direct sunlight. Our washing and care instructions go into detail.
