A tartan shawl in blue and beige, woven in pure cashmere with natural fringes on all four sides. The fibre measures 15 µm — the fine end of the 15–19 µm range cashmere is graded by — and that is where the softness against the neck comes from.
At 70 x 200 cm it is wide enough to wear as a wrap and long enough to loop twice at the throat, and the whole shawl weighs 100 grams. The twill weave keeps the cloth pliable, so it folds down small in a bag.
Tartan is the pattern of intersecting stripes in different colours, and we weave it in a number of colourways at our own weaving mill in Nepal — see them all under tartan scarves.
Care: Pure cashmere asks for a wool and cashmere detergent, lukewarm water and gentle handling: wash by hand or on the wool programme at 30 °C, avoid rubbing the fibres, and dry the shawl flat on a towel rather than on a hanger. Never tumble dry it. Any pills that form where the cloth rubs can be combed away. See our care instructions.
