Handwoven checkered plaid in blue, beige and gray

A checkered throw handwoven in blue, beige and gray, in equal parts cashmere and wool. The cashmere gives it the softness you notice the moment it touches your skin; the wool gives it the weight and the warmth that make a blanket worth keeping within reach.

It measures 190 x 150 cm, which is full blanket size — enough to wrap right around you on a cold evening, or to lie folded across the end of a bed. The check is woven into the cloth in twill, the weave that leaves fine diagonal ribs running across the surface.

Care: Air the throw outdoors overnight whenever it is not genuinely dirty — a cashmere and wool blend rarely needs more. For a real wash, use a wool detergent, by hand or on the machine's wool programme at 30 °C, press out the water instead of wringing it, and dry the throw flat. Never tumble dry it.
