Grey and violet model/cashmere stole

A stole in a blend of 90% modal and 10% cashmere, in grey and violet. The modal gives the cloth its soft drape and the cashmere content adds warmth, so the stole stays light while still doing the work of a wrap.

It measures 182 x 69 cm — stole proportions rather than scarf proportions: enough width to fall over both shoulders and stay put, and enough length to wind around the neck when the weather turns.

The binding is basket weave, a plain weave worked in groups of threads rather than one over one; our weaving guide shows how the different bindings are constructed. The stole is made in India.

Care: Because there is cashmere in the blend, wash this stole by hand in lukewarm water or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees, using a detergent intended for wool and cashmere.
