Checkered black and white wool scarf

A checked wool scarf in black and white — the two colours that never need to be matched to anything, only worn.

The cloth is woven in basket weave, where the threads run in groups rather than singly, over and under each other in pairs. It is the weave that gives the fabric a slightly open, textile-looking surface instead of a flat one; our weaving page explains how it is set up on the loom.

At 180 x 70 cm the scarf is wide enough to work as a light shoulder wrap as well as a scarf. Made in India, and shelved with the rest of our scarves.
