Extra large cashmere / silk shawl in navy blue

An extra large shawl in 60% cashmere and 40% silk, navy blue. The blend is the point: cashmere for the warmth and the softness against the skin, silk for the smoothness and the faint sheen it lends the surface. At 250 x 200 cm it is large enough to wrap right around the shoulders over a coat, and large enough to double as a light throw when it is off your back. The cloth is woven in basket weave.

Handwoven in our own weaving mill in Nepal, together with the rest of our extra large shawls.

Care: Hand wash this shawl rather than machine washing it. Lukewarm water, a detergent intended for wool and delicate fibres, gentle movement instead of rubbing, and the water pressed out rather than wrung — silk does not recover well from twisting. Dry it flat, out of direct sunlight and away from radiators, and keep it out of the tumble dryer entirely. Airing it outdoors overnight will handle most wearings. Full instructions on our care page.
