Cashmere shawl in navy blue with white stripes

A shawl in pure cashmere, navy blue and crossed by off-white stripes. It is woven in twill — the weave that leaves fine diagonal ribs running across the cloth — from cashmere measuring 15 micron, finer than the 19 micron mark we hold our yarn to.

At 200 x 100 cm this is a full-width shawl rather than a scarf. It is broad enough to wear as a wrap over a coat or an evening dress, and just as easy to fold double and wind around the neck when the weather asks for it. Pure cashmere carries warmth without weight, so a piece this size still sits lightly on the shoulders.

It is handwoven at our own weaving mill in Nepal.

Care: Air the shawl after wearing it and wash it only when it actually needs washing. Hand wash in lukewarm water with a detergent intended for wool and cashmere, or use your machine's wool cycle at 30 °C. Do not rub the fabric — cashmere felts if you do. Press the water out in a towel, dry the shawl flat and never tumble dry it.
