Checkered silk/cashmere shawl in beige/blue/grey

A checked shawl woven in 60% cashmere and 40% silk, in beige, blue and grey. Cashmere and silk absorb colour differently, which is what gives the cloth its depth, and the silk lends a soft lustre that pure cashmere does not have.

The weave is a basket weave and the shawl measures 90 x 210 cm at 94 g — generous enough to wear as a shawl over the shoulders, light enough to wind twice around the neck instead. The cashmere is 15 µm, at the fine end of the fibre. It is woven by hand at our own weaving mill in Nepal — more on that under handwoven scarves and shawls.
