Checkered pashmina shawl in red and navy

A checked pashmina shawl in red and navy, woven from pure cashmere. The fibre measures 15 µm, and the finished cloth weighs 95 grams across a full 70 x 200 cm — enough surface to wrap in, with very little weight to carry.

The twill weave runs a fine diagonal through the cloth and lets it drape rather than hold its shape, so the shawl works looped at the neck, open across the shoulders, or folded over a coat collar. The red and navy check sits easily alongside the plainer pieces already in a wardrobe.

It is woven at our own weaving mill in Nepal. The rest of the pattern range is under checkers and stripes.

Care: Airing it outdoors will do for most of its life. When it does need washing, use a detergent made for wool and cashmere — by hand in lukewarm water, or on the machine's wool programme at 30 °C. Dry it flat on a towel, never in the tumble dryer, and lift off any pills with a cashmere comb. Full instructions are on our washing and care page.
