Herringbone is a pattern that behaves like a solid colour from across a room and reveals itself close up, which is exactly what you want from a scarf you will wear every day. This one is red, woven from a 50% cashmere / 50% wool blend at 15 µm.
The blend is a deliberate choice rather than a compromise: cashmere brings the softness and the warmth-to-weight, wool brings resilience and body, and a scarf that gets pulled on and off daily benefits from both. At 70 x 200 cm it is a proper scarf length — two loops around the neck with something left to hang, and flat enough to sit under a coat collar.
It is made in Nepal, where we run our own weaving mill. See it alongside the rest of the checkers and stripes, or browse the full range of cashmere scarves.
Care: A cashmere and wool blend wants the same treatment as pure cashmere. Wash it with a detergent made for wool and cashmere — by hand in lukewarm water, or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees — and do not rub it, as that risks felting the wool. Dry it flat on a dry towel and keep it away from the tumble dryer. If pills form where it rubs against a coat, a cashmere comb removes them; the full method is on our cashmere and wool care page.
