Handwoven yak cape. Orange/natural colour

A cape handwoven in yak wool, in orange and natural. Yak wool is warm, and the cape is made by hand on the loom at our own weaving mill in Nepal.

Worn as an alternative to a jacket, a cape asks nothing of you: you pull it on over your clothes and your arms stay free underneath. It comes in one size, so it works over a knit in winter and over a shirt when it is milder. The orange runs together with the natural shade of the yak wool.

The rest of the colourways are under Capes. If you would like to know how a piece like this is made, and by whom, read Handwoven scarves and shawls.

  • Composition: Yak
  • Colour: Orange/natural
  • Size: One size
  • Country of origin: Nepal

Care: Use a detergent made for wool and wash by hand in lukewarm water, or use the wool programme at 30°C. Do not rub the fabric, and never tumble dry – dry the cape flat on a towel so the water cannot pull it out of shape. Between wears, airing it outdoors overnight is usually enough. See our washing and care page for more.
