Cashmere scarf in natural brown and black

A stole woven in pure cashmere with a fibre diameter of 15 microns — the fine end of the scale, and the reason something this light still holds warmth. Natural brown and black yarn are taken through a basket weave, the simple over-under crossing of warp and weft that leaves the cloth light enough to be almost transparent when you hold it up to the light.

At 70 x 200 cm it doubles around the neck as a scarf or opens out over the shoulders, which makes it as useful over a coat in February as over bare arms in an over-cooled restaurant.

Handwoven in our own weaving mill in Nepal. More pieces in the same construction are collected under basket weave, and handwoven scarves and shawls describes how the mill and the handlooms work.

  • Composition: 100% cashmere
  • Fibre diameter: 15 microns
  • Colour: Natural brown
  • Weave: Basket weave
  • Size: 70 x 200 cm
  • Country of origin: Nepal — our own weaving mill

Care: When it is not actually dirty, airing it overnight is enough. For a wash, use a detergent intended for wool and cashmere, by hand in lukewarm water or on the wool programme at 30 degrees, and dry it flat on a towel rather than on a hanger. Never put it in the tumble dryer. Our washing and care instructions have the details.
