Checkered scarf in red

A checked scarf in red, woven from 55% cotton and 45% linen. The two fibres divide the work between them: cotton keeps the surface soft against the neck, while linen gives the cloth body and a dry, breathable handle.

At 190 x 70 cm it is wide enough to fall open as a light wrap across the shoulders and long enough to loop twice at the throat. That makes it a scarf for the in-between weather rather than deep winter — spring mornings, cool evenings, travel days when you cannot predict the temperature. Care: Wash by hand or on a cool, gentle machine cycle and leave the tumble dryer alone — dry the scarf flat and reshape it while it is still damp. Linen takes creases readily, so press it with a warm iron while slightly damp and the surface settles again.
