Brown and grey paisley scarf in pure cashmere

A paisley scarf in pure cashmere, woven as a jacquard. In a jacquard the pattern is built into the cloth on the loom, thread by thread, rather than printed on afterwards — so the teardrop figures are part of the weave and cannot wear off it. The cashmere measures 15 microns across the fibre.

The colour is grey brown, and at 70 x 200 cm it is long enough to wind twice around the neck and wide enough to open across the shoulders. Paisley is a pattern with a long history in the wardrobe; it tends to lift plain coats and plain knitwear rather than compete with them.

Handwoven in our own weaving mill in Nepal. More pieces in the same pattern are collected under paisley shawl, and handwoven scarves and shawls describes the mill it came from.
