Double sided scarf with dots in blue and white

Woven in pure lambswool in blue and white, this scarf is double sided: the dotted pattern shows one face on the front and another on the back, so how you fold it decides what is on show.

Lambswool is the first fleece a sheep gives, and it is finer than the wool of the shearings that follow. This one measures 190 x 50 cm, a full length that will loop twice at the neck or hang straight down the front of a coat, and the whole scarf is woven in Scotland. Care: Airing the scarf outdoors overnight will do for most wears. When it needs more, use a detergent made for wool and cashmere and wash it by hand in lukewarm water or on the machine's wool programme at 30 degrees — rubbing the wool risks felting it.
