Cashmere/modal scarf in earch tones

Ninety percent modal, ten percent cashmere, in earth tones. Modal is a soft fibre that drapes rather than holds its shape, so the cloth falls close instead of standing away from you; the cashmere in the blend brings the warmth and the softness against the skin that only a goat's undercoat gives.

At 200 x 100 cm this is a stole rather than a narrow scarf. Opened out it covers the shoulders over a dress or a shirt; folded lengthways it winds around the neck like any scarf. The size is the reason a stole like this ends up in a bag for the plane as often as it does around a collar.

Care: Air it rather than wash it whenever you can. With cashmere in the blend, wash by hand in lukewarm water or on the machine's wool programme, using a detergent intended for wool and cashmere.
