Grey scarf with flower pattern

A grey scarf with a flower pattern, woven from an equal blend of cotton and modal. Modal is a fibre made from beech pulp, and blended half and half with cotton it gives a cloth that is smooth to the touch and light in the hand.

At 180 x 70 cm it is wide as well as long — wide enough to open out over the shoulders as a wrap, or to fold lengthways and wear as an ordinary scarf. That width, and the cotton in the blend, make it a scarf for the milder half of the year rather than deep winter.

Care: Wash gently by hand and press the water out rather than wringing it. Reshape the scarf while it is damp and dry it flat, away from direct heat, so the weave keeps its shape.
