Checkered scarf in blue, red and grey

A checked scarf in red, beige, blue and grey, woven in Scotland from pure wool. Four colours crossing one another give a scarf that reads differently depending on what you wear it with.

Wool is warm because of what it does rather than what it weighs: the crimped fibre traps air, and the trapped air is the insulation. At 190 x 35 cm this is a long, narrow scarf — enough length for a double turn at the neck, slim enough to disappear under a coat. It sits in our fine wool collection.

Care: Air the scarf after wear instead of washing it — wool sheds odours on its own. When a wash is due, do it by hand in cool water with a wool detergent, squeeze rather than wring, and dry it flat. Full guidance is on our care page for cashmere and wool.
